Yes, DCT is open to visitors by appointment. We host Open Days for students who would like a tour of the college and to meet with our admissions advisor. You can register here (insert link: https://dct.ac.ae/en/admission/dct-open-days/ ) or send an e-mail to info@dct.ac.ae

The Dubai College of Tourism is located at One Central, Building C2, 4th-floor. One central is adjacent to the Dubai World Trade Centre, about a 5-minute walk from the World Trade Centre Metro Station. 

 

Vocational education aims to deliver the knowledge, skills and competencies required in a particular field through a combination of theoretical teaching and practical experience.

Vocational training programmes allow students to get ready for specific careers in their chosen industry. These programmes focus on providing hands-on instruction, practical skills and on the job training and can lead to a diploma or certificate qualification.

All DCT courses are delivered in English only.

The certificate courses are one-year full-time, 5 days per week, Monday - Thursday 8:30am - 4:00pm, and Fridays 8:30am to 1:00pm.

Term dates for the 2024-2025 academic year are as follows:

Term 1:

3rd September 2024 to 5th December 2024

Term 2:

6th January 2025 to 13th March 2025

Term 3: 

7th April 2025 to 20th June 2025

 

Please note that term dates might be subject to minor change due to public holidays.

The entry requirements include:

1. A completed application form 

2. Latest school results/ certificates of qualification 

3. Valid passport and/or Emirates ID

Once the college has received these, you will be invited to a motivational interview. You may be required to take an English language assessment and numeracy test. If you are an International student, the motivational interview will take place online.

To apply to DCT you should follow the following steps:

  • Fill out the online application form.
  • Undertake a short interview and complete an assessment of your literacy and numeracy skills.

The assessments are simply to make sure you will be able to effectively access the learning if you were to join the college. If you meet our criteria you will be offered a place at the college. 

English literacy skills for applicants will be assessed as part of the application process and motivational interview.

Dubai College of Tourism is committed to providing equal access for all qualified individuals to its programmes and learning opportunities. It is the college's policy to provide, on an individual basis, adjustments to its requirements for students who have documented disabilities that may affect their ability to meet course requirements as well as practical internship work experience. Please contact the college to discuss any support you may require.

Free student parking is available beside the multistory parking on Happiness Street adjacent to the Dubai World Trade Centre which is 5-minute walk to our campus. 

The World Trade Centre Metro station is also a 5-minute away. 

DCT certificate courses are accredited by the Ministry of Education. Please see here: Level 4 and Level 5.

Yes, all our courses include mandatory internships that will be arranged by DCT as long as the student is in good academic standing.

Yes, students who complete the one-year certificate programme can also continue with their education by progressing to the Advanced Diploma which takes an additional two years inclusive of a 4-month internship in each of the two years.

In order to successfully complete a programme you will need to meet the attendance criteria as well as complete learning activities and assessments, which may take many forms including written assignments, group work, oral presentations and practicals. Each programme will also have an internship component that will form part of the final assessment.

With the skills and knowledge you gain, you will be well equipped to find a job in your chosen field within the tourism sector.

 

DCT's career guidance service will assist all students in their search for employment after completing one of our courses.

The National Qualifications Center was established after the merger of the National Qualifications Authority with the Ministry of Education in 2021.
The National Qualifications Center is responsible for ensuring the quality of national occupational standards and vocational qualifications that meet the requirements of the economic sectors and the labor market, in addition to developing policies, standards and frameworks related to the TVET system in the country in accordance with international best practices.
