Dubai College of Tourism (DCT) was established by Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) to be a world-class vocational tourism college that would drive professional excellence capability in all tourism and hospitality service personnel in Dubai.
Vision
DCT is recognized as a leading institution for the provision of innovative, accessible and exceptional education and training that supports people to enter, enhance or advance within the tourism industry.

Vocational Education
DCT offers certificate and advanced diploma courses in four core subject areas: tourism, hospitality, culinary arts and events, and a specialised Dubai Programmes faculty. The programmes follow the National Qualifications Framework for the UAE (QFEmirates) and are approved by the Ministry of Education (NQC L4) (NQC L5).
The ‘job-focused’ training on offer at DCT will be attractive for high school leavers who do not want to continue with ‘academic’ study and would like a clear path to a myriad of exciting and rewarding career opportunities within Dubai’s tourism and hospitality sectors. The vocational training on offer has been designed in partnership with the industry; students will gain practical experience through internships that will lead to jobs after completion of the course, as well as enhanced future opportunities for progression within the industry.
The college is well-established and accepted its first intake of students in September 2017.
Industry Training Initiatives
In line with the strategy set by Department of Economy & Tourism and the Dubai government, DCT works directly with Dubai’s tourism industry on providing fundamental training programmes specifically designed for those working within the tourism industry, such as Dubai Way (an online video based programme for tourist-facing staff in Dubai) and Dubai Expert (an interactive online training tool for international travel agents). Both programmes have the ultimate goal of enhancing the overall tourist experience for all visitors to Dubai.
Emiratisation
The college is responsible for running the Emiratisation initiative of the Dubai Department of Economy & Tourism (DET) to attract Emiratis to work in Dubai's private sector. DCT has developed excellent recruitment, training and industry on-boarding programmes, to support and encourage young UAE Nationals to be part of the city’s evolving private sector.
