The DCT Office is currently located in dedicated facilities in the Department of Dubai Tourism Commerce Marketing Government Headquarters in Al Fattan Plaza, Al Garhoud. 

The current DCT students are studying at IBIS One Central, besides the World Trade Centre.

DCT will be moving to our new campus at One Central, Building C2 adjacent the Dubai World Trade Centre by the end of the year.

Vocational education aims to deliver the knowledge, skills and competencies required in a particular field through a combination of theoretical teaching and practical experience.

Vocational training programmes allow students to get ready for specific careers in their chosen industry. These programmes focus on providing hands-on instruction, practical skills and on the job training and can lead to a diploma or certificate qualification.

The entry requirements include:

1. A completed application form 

2. Latest school results/ certificates of qualification 

3. Valid passport and/or Emirates ID

4. If you are an International student, a certificate of either IELTS 4.5 or TOEFL 32 to 34 is also required.

Once the college has received these, you will be invited to a motivation interview. You may be required to take an English language assessment and numeracy test. If you are an International student, the motivation interview will take place over Skype or the telephone. 

To apply to DCT you should follow the following steps:

  • Fill out the online application form.
  • Undertake a short interview and complete an assessment of your literacy and numeracy skills.

The assessments are simply to make sure you will be able to effectively access the learning if you were to join the college. If you meet our criteria you will be offered a place at the college.

  • The certificate courses are full-time (5 days per week, Sunday - Thursday 8:30am -4:30pm) one-year programmes.
  • The Events certificate is also offered in the evenings from 5:00pm-8:30pm, see your part-time study options.
  • Once you have completed the certificate you can continue your studies and attain a Diploma in 4 additional months of full-time study. 

Yes, all our courses include mandatory internships that will be arranged by DCT.

Yes, students who complete the certificate course can progress to the second year of the Diploma course should they receive the required final grades.

All DCT professors are experts in their field and have prior industry experience in their subject area.

All DCT courses are delivered in English only.

In order to successfully complete a programme you will need to meet the attendance criteria as well as complete learning activities and assessments, which may take many forms including written assignments, group work, oral presentations and practicals. Each programme will also have an internship component that will form part of the final assessment.

With the skills and knowledge you gain, you will be well equipped to find a job in your chosen field within the tourism sector.

DCT's career guidance service will assist all students in their search for employment after completing one of our courses.

DCT is seeking accreditation of all its courses from KHDA, which allows the qualifications to be recognized across the GCC. In addition, the courses will be accredited by TAFE SA, South Australia's largest vocational education provider.

Your English literacy skills will be assessed as part of the application process and motivation interview. If you are an International student, a certificate of either IELTS 4.5 or TOEFL 32 to 34 is required.

 

No, we do not currently have parking facilities for students. On street parking is available however, and we also encourage students to take the metro to GIGICO which is only a few minutes walk from the college.

Yes, you may study part time. It is also possible to study certain modules within the Certificate programme and to receive individual recognition of completion. Modules with high demand will be offered in the evenings and weekends which is a convenient option for our part time students. With flexible scheduling, DCT will help students reach their goals at whichever pace they choose.
